Carry the Torch

Here's the vinyl version of the Death Injection demo that I posted about a few weeks back.  Split release on Assault Records and Failure Recordings, this is the clear/black splatter variant that's limited to like 103 copies or something like that.  Like I said before, this is raging Boston hardcore.  I hope to hear more from this band soon.

Don't Call Me Tonight

Tear It Up were a New Jersey band that was active in the early 2000's.  Formed after the band Dead Nation broke up, TIU played a pretty straight forward fast style of hardcore punk.  I really believe that their 'Nothing To Nothing' LP that was originally released on Dead Alive Records is one of the best that came out during that time.  I've been on the hunt for a pink copy for some time, and was stoked to get one from my recent trip to Double Decker.  I believe pink was limited to 200 copies.

Self Abuse

A lot of the music I post on this blog directly pull influence from the mighty Poison Idea.  The band released the 'Pick Your King' EP back in 1983 and it still stands as one of the best hardcore punk 7"s to ever exist.  Up until a trip to Double Decker Records in Allentown, PA last weekend, I only had a Record Store Day Press of this essential EP.  After I had my haul of things and was about to check out I noticed there was a 7" box up on the counter that contained the rare/higher ticket items.  I actually thought to myself, "it would be awesome if there was a 'Pick Your King' in here."  Looks like I lucked out.  This is the 4th press on American Leather Records.

Lowlife

Here is the debut 7" EP by Boston's Peacebreakers titled "Everyday Battle."  Very much in the same vein as Boston Strangler (maybe a little less hardcore and a little more punk) Peacebreakers pays homage to the forefathers of Boston hardcore/punk.  Put out on Rock'n'Roll Disgrace Records, the band has received some backlash for the song "Foreign Exchange."  While the band have announced that it isn't an anti-immigration song, many seem to think otherwise.  Reading the lyrics I can see why some people might get that intention but I'm thinking (and hoping) that's not the case.  This is one solid piece of wax, head and shoulders above the demo they released a while back.
