Numb/Blind to Faith

Here's a record that hardly needs any introduction.  If you have any interest in metallic hardcore whatsoever, chances are you are well aware of the greatness that is the first few Ringworm releases.  I've been trying to track down an original press of their first LP, 'The Promise' on orange vinyl for quite some time.  I was able to score this on eBay a few weeks back for a pretty good price, so I was stoked.  Split release on Incision Records and Dutch East India.  From what I can gather, this never came with an insert.

Stand Accused

As with my last post, this is a post about a release that was made available at Damaged City Fest in D.C. two weekends ago.  And similar to my post about The Flex this band is also from the UK.  This is the cassette version of the new Violent Reaction EP, 'Dead End' due out on Painkiller Records soon.  The vinyl copies weren't going to be read for the fest/a majority of the band's tour so the label had said cassettes made.  I'm glad they did because after last year's LP I've been eagerly wanting more from this band, and this tape does not disappoint.  Six new tracks in a very similar vein to last year's LP make this one of my favorite releases so far this year.  I can't wait for the vinyl version to drop.

Bad Faith

This past weekend was the second annual Damaged City fest in D.C.  Similar to last year's Violent Reaction LP, The Flex had their LP for sale at the fest before it was available anywhere else.  And much like the Violent Reaction LP being my favorite release of last year, this debut LP, 'Wild Stabs In the Dark,' from The Flex will go down as one of my favorite releases of this year.  This band comes from Leeds in the UK and plays a hybrid of early USHC and UKHC.  Not too different from Violent Reaction, albeit with a bit less of an Oi! feel.  Split release on Video Disease and Milk Run.

Nazi Killer

In honor of having seen the almighty Infest twice in the past 4 months, I figured it would be fitting to post this recent acquisition of the band's second LP, "No Man's Slave."  This LP perfects the band's previous work, making it their best effort (in my opinion).  I believe this is the first press on Draw Blank/Deep Six Records due to the white labels.  I'm thinking the second press had green/black labels.  Apparently there were some stock copies of this LP recently uncovered so I jumped at the chance to get one.  One of the best hardcore punk bands of all time.

Yes, Master

Here is the first of two EP's slated for this year (as far as I know) for NYC's Warthog.  I've been a fan of the band since their demo, when they went under the moniker of Chain Wallet, and this EP does not disappoint.  Released on Katorga Works, the label description pretty much nails this band's sound on the head.  A mixture of 80's USHC (Poison Idea) mixed with 90's Cleveland HC (Inmates/H100s/etc.) with just a touch of Japanese HC.  A raging EP for sure, I'll definitely be picking up a copy of their second EP release of the year that is coming out on Iron Lung.
