Dorner's Rule

Debut EP, 'Exploit Me,' from Canada's SNOB pressed to wax by Hardware Records out of Germany.  Think of a drugged-out version of SSD and you're on the right track as far as this band's sound.  It kind of reminds me of Gas Rag but with less d beat and more skank.  Limited to 100 copies on blue vinyl.  The band's demo was also pressed to wax so naturally I need to track down a copy of that at some point.

Delinquent

When Quality Control HQ put up orders for the newest Violent Reaction 7", they also put up the debut 7" from the UK's Mankind.  A bit of a departure from most of the popular UK hardcore bands at the moment, Mankind takes a more 80's DC approach to hardcore punk.  As the label states Faith plays an obvious influence here, but the EP isn't without that UK stomp either.  Solid first exposure to this band.  Yellow vinyl is limited to 100 copies.

Black Clad Jerusalem

It seems like I'm the last person to post about this 2 song release from Stone Dagger.  If you don't know by now this is a good old fashioned heavy metal band done by members of (you guessed it) the Boston hardcore scene - Brendan Radigan, CC, and DFJ of The Rival Mob, Mind Eraser, Mental, xfilesx, every other band from Boston.  The two songs here are very on point and well done, not too dissimilar to the fantastic Magic Circle LP that came out last year (someone I never posted about that.  Go get it if you haven't yet, it's really really good.)  Pressed to vinyl by Electric Assault Records, the label blew threw the first press in less than 3 days I think.  There's a second press currently up for sale.

Ripped and Glued

The Repos (or The Ropes, depending on the year) out of Chicago are one of the best examples of hardcore punk in the last 15 years.  Great mix of Poison Idea, Jerry's Kids, and maybe a little (early) Youth of Today for good measure.  This is the band's second LP, 'Hearts and Heads Explode' and is my personal favorite release from the band.  All of the tracks smoke and flow together so well.  You'd be hard pressed to find another band that has had such a solid output of material.  Youth Attack pressed 700 copies of this all on black.

Godly Beings

Here is one of my favorite death metal LP's of all time.  The debut from the legendary Obituary, "Slowly We Rot."  Obituary set themselves apart from their peers at the time by playing a groove-heavy style of death metal, when most other bands were more focused on blast beats.  What am I even saying?  If you like death metal you know who this band is and how essential this release is.  I believe this is a first press on RoadRacer Records.
